Fall 2023Position Summary:
The Job Developer develops career-related jobs among area employers for the students of a Community College and assists in development, administration and marketing of programs which integrate students' academic studies with practical work experience in their career fields. These programs may encompass such areas as cooperative education, career services and special grant-funded programs.
The Community College system offers two-year liberal arts degree programs in an open enrollment environment and also offers a broad range of career, occupational and technical certificate programs in order to meet the varied learning needs of the populations served. These programs emphasize the linkage between academic studies and practical career application.
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Example of Job Duties:Under the direction of the Director of Cooperative Education or Career Services or another administrator,the Job Developer is accountable for promoting and obtaining the participation of employers in programs for placement of the College's students in career-related jobs to provide students with experience and permanent employment through effective performance in these essential functional areas:
- Development of employment opportunities.
- accountable for developing career-related job opportunities for the campus students.
- Marketing the College's career programs to employers, students and faculty.
- accountable for promoting career and work experience programs among employers, students and faculty.
- Guiding students on career-related employment.
- accountable for providing guidance to students on employment opportunities related to their academic course work and associated career development.
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in an appropriately relevant field with two (2) or more years' of experience applying those disciplines in a field related to career development, placement, education administration or business or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties.
Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following:
- Job placement or recruiting.
- Career advising or counseling.
- Marketing, business development or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:- Demonstrated experience in developing new business and maintaining existing relationships.
- Familiarity with career services recruiting software.
- Strong marketing skills and experience with social media.
Anticipated Salary; $62,033 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. This is a two-year Grant Funded position.
